PATHANAMTHITTA: Devaswom Board President PS Prashanth elucidated the 'successful move' that ensured smooth darshan for pilgrims during the start of Vrishchikam month in Sabarimala. The decision to cut short the duty hours of police in the 18 holy steps has also been deemed successful.

PS Prashanth assured that Devaswom would make all efforts to ensure that the pilgrims leave the holy steps with deep satisfaction. The Devaswom Board President was talking to the media after meeting ADGP S Sreejith.

Attempts are being made not to repeat the mistakes of the previous season. The parking issue was solved to some extent during this season. The Devaswom Board President pointed out that the special permission obtained from the court was also helpful. The FASTag system introduced last year was a success and will continue this year.

The problem of drinking water supply in Jyoti Nagar and Nadapanthal has been solved. Drinking water distribution is done on the pavement and barricade by preparing special kiosks. Steps have already been taken to ensure prasad for the devotees. As of the last day, 40,129 Aravana tins are in buffer stock. One and a half lakh Appam packets are also being manufactured.
