MUMBAI: Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has been arrested in California in the US, a report said. According to sources, Anmol may be extradited to India. The NIA had offered a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anyone providing information about Anmol.
Anmol is accused in several cases, including the murder of renowned Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique and the firing outside actor Salman Khan's residence in Mumbai. According to NIA, Anmol had conspired to carry out the murder of Baba Siddique.
Anmol, who controlled the crime syndicate following the arrest of Lawrence Bishnoi, fled to Canada last year. Lawrence is currently in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat.
Earlier this month, the Mumbai Crime Branch had initiated efforts to bring Anmol home from the US. A special court in Maharashtra has also issued a non-bailable warrant against him. Anmol is an accused in two cases registered by the National Investigation Agency. Interpol has issued a red corner notice against him.
