PATHANAMTHITTA: The police are readying moves to interrogate the classmates accused of abetting the suicide of Ammu, a fourth-year student of Chuttippara SME Nursing College. All the three accused are currently at their homes. Police will first seek permission from their parents.

Ammu S Sajeev, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, jumped for the top of her hostel building last Friday. Despite treatment in Pathanamthitta General Hospital and then at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, her life could not be saved.

The family had alleged that Ammu had to suffer severe mental torture from three of her classmates. It is alleged that these students made it a pastime to torture Ammu both in class and at the hostel. The scuffle between classmates started after Ammu assumed the charge of tour coordinator. On Monday, her teacher admitted to the police that a feud existed between the three students and Ammu. The teacher said the problems though worse were once ameliorated in college itself.

The principal of the college also admitted to the feud between the students after Ammu was made the tour coordinator. Considering all these statements, the police investigation is now headed into the three students.
