THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Gold prices have seen a spike in the state on Tuesday. In today’s market rate, one sovereign of gold costs around Rs 56,520. In the last week, the gold prices in the state saw a dip of almost Rs 2800 but the trends started reversing after Monday.
The price for 22 Carat Gold is Rs 7065 per gram and for 18 carat gold, it is Rs 5830. Silver prices have also registered a spike in the last two days. Hallmark silver price per gram is Rs 99 today.
The highest gold price of this month was recorded on November 1. At that time, the price of one sovereign gold was Rs 59,080. Global demand for gold, currency fluctuations, interest rates and government policies are the main factors affecting gold prices. Also, the overall state of the economy and the level of the US dollar against other currencies determine the price of gold in the Indian market.
