Journalist killed after being hit by speeding BMW car

CHENNAI: A journalist, who was travelling on a motorbike, met with a tragic end in Tamil Nadu after being hit by a speeding BMW car. The deceased has been identified as Pondy Bazaar native Pradeep Kumar. He was a cameraman for a leading news channel in Telugu. The accident took place on the Maduravoyal-Tambaram elevated bypass in Chennai on Tuesday night.

Pradeep Kumar was riding his bike on Tuesday night when the speeding BMW car hit him. Following the accident, the driver of the BMW car abandoned the car and fled the scene. It was the locals who informed the police after noticing the damaged car on the roadside. The police said that Pradeep's body was recovered 100 meters away from the accident site. According to reports, Pradeep also worked as a part-time Rapido driver. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
