Actor Meghanathan, familiar to Malayalees for villain roles, dies @ 60

KOZHIKODE: Film and serial actor Meghanathan (60), noticed for his villainous roles in Malayalam cinema, died here early Thursday morning. He died while undergoing treatment for respiratory problems at the Baby Memorial Hospital in Kozhikode. Meghanathan is the son of actor Balan K Nair and Sarada Nair. The funeral will be held at his home in Shoranur.

He started his film career with Asthram directed by P N Menon and released in 1983. He has acted in many films including Ee Puzhayum Kadannu, Chenkol, Uthaman, Panchagni, Chamayam, Bhoomi Geetham, Malappuram Haji Mahanaya Joji, Prayikkara Pappan, Udhyanapalakan, Ullaspoongattu, Rashram, Kudamattom, Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum Vasthavam, Action Hero Biju etc. His last film was Kooman released in 2022. He has also acted in many serials. Some notable serials which he acted were Snehanjanali and Meghajeevitham. He has acted in almost 50 films and many serials. He has acted in Tamil films also.

Meghanathan completed his primary education from Chennai, obtained a diploma in automobile engineering from Coimbatore. He then entered the acting field. He leaves behind his wife Susmitha and daughter Parvathy.
