PATHANAMTHITTA: Police investigating the death of nursing student Ammu has taken three female students into custody. The deceased Thiruvananthapuram native Ammu A Sajeev's classmates from Chuttipara SME Nursing College were taken into police custody. It is a possibility that the three may be filed with charges of abetment of suicide. Ammu committed suicide by jumping down from the hostel building on the 15th of this month.

Ammu (22) is the daughter of Sajeev and Radhamani, natives of Ayirooppara, Thiruvananthapuram. Just hours after the death of Ammu, her family vociferously accused the three students of constantly troubling Ammu and inflicting mental trauma on her. The family also went against the college authorities for not taking appropriate action despite writing a formal complaint against the three students.

As per the family, they received news of Ammu jumping from the building by 4.30 pm. It is recorded that Ammu was brought to Pathanamthitta General Hospital at 5.15 pm the same evening. The general hospital is just two kilometres away from the college and it evoked suspicion within the family on the 30-minute delay.

Due to poor facilities, the general hospital doctors advised Ammu to be taken to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital in the 108 ambulance.
