KOTTAYAM: The preliminary investigation into CPM leader EP Jayarajan’s book controversy found no details of an agreement made with DC Books to publish the leader's autobiography. DC Books owner Ravi was unavailable during the police investigation, while the organization's staff gave their statements to the officials.

EP Jayarajan's statement was also recorded in the case. The Kottayam SP in charge of the case reached EP’s residence in Keecheri and took the statement. The journalist who assisted EP in the autobiography also gave his statements to the police. The police got an indication that most of the circulated parts were indeed from EP's autobiography. The journalist has not denied this.

Kottayam SP Shahul Hameed is leading the investigation. Ravi DC's statement will also be recorded. Jayarajan had earlier alleged conspiracy over some excerpts of the autobiography getting leaked even before its launch. Jayarajan also denied writing the parts that appeared in public.
