KALPETTA: BJP state president K Surendran said that the state government should publicly apologise as it has been proved to be a false campaign that the central government has neglected Wayanad disaster management. "The documents submitted by the Centre in the high court are a slap in the face of the Pinarayi government. The government and the opposition have betrayed the people by using the Wayanad tragedy for electoral gains. The state government had submitted the PDNA report to the Centre on November 13, the day of the Wayanad and Chelakkara by-polls. However, the Left had claimed that it was submitted earlier itself. The Congress also supported it."

"The Government of Kerala concealed the fact that out of the emergency financial assistance of Rs 214 crore sought by Kerala from the Centre, Rs 150 crore was sanctioned and half of the SDRF funds were allowed to be allocated for Wayanad. The central government has also sanctioned funds for things like airlifting and removal of debris. The central government will examine the PDNA report submitted by the state and give Wayanad the help it deserves."

"The government should tell the people how much money has been allocated from the SDRF fund and the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund for Wayanad. The fact that they had to face severe criticism from the High Court for hurting the people by holding a hartal for something that was not there shows the perfidy of the government and the opposition. The LDF and the UDF resorted to hartal and harmed the people without even giving a warning. Both fronts spread false news against the Prime Minister who is ready to help Kerala. The ruling opposition, which tried to mislead the people, is betraying the people," Surendran said.
