THRISSUR: Nilambur MLA PV Anvar said that he was able to capture 3920 votes from the communist stronghold of Chelakkara. He responded that the votes he got this time were against Pinarayism, which he had been talking about for the last three months. Anvar added that many of the government's actions were brought to the people.
"The election results in all three places confirmed what was said against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's office. The DMK expresses its gratitude to the voters of Chelakkara. If one looks at the politics in Kerala now, those who are criticising now have to think how many parties are capable of garnering 3920 votes if they contest alone in 140 constituencies. After the CPM, the Congress and the BJP, how many parties are capable of capturing these said votes?" - Anvar asked.
Meantime, LDF candidate U R Pradeep is confident of victory in Chelakkara as the counting of votes has ended. In Chelakkara, the LDF got 64,877 votes, the UDF 52,626 votes and the BJP 33,609 votes. Pradeep is currently the chairman of the State Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation. He has served as former president of Desamangalam panchayat, CPM Chelakkara area committee member, PKS district committee member and KSKTU area committee member.
