Death of youth after getting entangled in rope, case for culpable homicide, accused to be arrested today

PATHANAMTHITTA: The police have taken action in the incident where a youth died after getting entangled in a rope tied to a tree at Muthoor in Thiruvalla. The police have registered a case of culpable homicide. The contractor and people who tied the rope were taken into custody yesterday and they are likely to be arrested today.


The tragic incident happened Sunday evening. The victim Saed (32) of Alappuzha's Thakazhi, died after getting entangled in the rope tied across the road as part of the tree felling activities. The accident happened while he was traveling with his wife and two children. The police said tree felling work was underway on the road without a warning board or any other safety precautions.


The accident occurred while a tree was felled from the premises of Muthoor government school. Saed got seriously injured when the rope got entangled in the rope and fell on the road. His wife and children escaped with minor injuries. The body is kept in the mortuary of the hospital. It will be handed over to his family after postmortem.
