Set a daunting target of 534, Australia crumbled under pressure, managing only 238 in their second innings. India’s emphatic win was powered by centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli, alongside Jasprit Bumrah’s fiery bowling display.
India, batting first, posted 150 in their opening innings but bounced back strongly in the second, declaring at 487/6. Australia, in response, faltered in both innings, folding for 104 in the first and 238 in the second.
Jasprit Bumrah led the Indian attack with six wickets across both innings, while Mohammed Siraj chipped in with three scalps. Washington Sundar and debutant Harshit Rana also made significant contributions with two wickets apiece. For Australia, Travis Head stood out with a gritty 89 in the second innings, while Mitchell Marsh (47) and Alex Carey (36) offered some resistance.
Despite the absence of key players Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, India delivered a stellar performance.
