Actress Nayanthara in the past week had her fair share of limelight for a few odd reasons and also regarding the release of the documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale. The documentary has brought out the hitherto shrouded private life of the actress. Many news regarding her movie choices, and her mother’s opinion on her relationship with another actor were hot topics of discussion during the past week. And now, another excerpt from the documentary is doing the rounds on social media. Here, the actress discusses the item dance in the all-time blockbuster ‘Ghajini’ and the controversial bikini scene in Ajith’s ‘Billa’.

Nayanthara:

"The lowest point was the film, Ghajini. There were days when I used to see all these comments and people were like, 'Why is she even acting?', 'Why is she even there in the film?', 'She is so fat!'. You can't say such things, you know? You can talk about the performance part of it.

Maybe, I was not good. But I was doing exactly what my director told me to do. And I was wearing exactly what he told me to wear. I was a newcomer so I never had a say in it."

On her famous bikini scene in Billa:

“I did it not because I wanted to prove a point, I did it because my director told me that’s the scene. It was necessary, so I did it. And I think it kind of worked for me. I did it as per the suggestion of the director.”
