Police attempting to protect PP Divya; Naveen Babu's family alleges foul play by police

KANNUR: The family of former Kannur ADM Naveen Babu was forced to approach the court seeking a CBI probe into Naveen Babu's death after suspicions of the police attempting to protect accused PP Divya gained strength.

Naveen Babu's family alleges that the police have been unwilling to investigate the conspiracy, including the fabrication of false complaints against Naveen, allegedly due to Divya's influence in administrative circles. The family believes that the Collector, along with Divya, was involved in the conspiracy against Naveen

The family also suspects that Divya obtained bail after fabricating a report using government machinery, including the Collector, to portray Naveen Babu as a corrupt official. They fear that the accused may make similar interventions in the future as well.

The family believes that Divya's influential connections were behind the fake complaint reportedly submitted to the Chief Minister to cast suspicion on Naveen Babu after his death. The statement of TV Prashanthan, the petrol pump applicant who filed the complaint against Naveen, was recorded by the Special Investigation Team only after a significant delay.

Manjusha’s statement was recorded last. The police investigation into the abetment of suicide case focused solely on Divya's involvement. It has now become Manjusha's responsibility to prove whether Naveen Babu's death was a suicide or not.

Where are the visuals?
According to the police, Naveen Babu might have boarded auto-rickshaws at least three times after leaving the Collectorate. The police are claiming that he travelled from near the Muneeswaran temple to the quarters in Pallikkunnu in the evening in an auto. Later, he is said to have travelled from the quarters to the railway station by another auto-rickshaw. Upon reaching the station, he stayed there until 1:30 a.m., as the train had already departed. He then reportedly hired another auto to return to Pallikkunnu. Did the police find these three autorickshaw drivers? Did they obtain the details of these three drivers? Why didn't the police get the CCTV footage of Naveen getting into the autorickshaws?
