THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran has threatened journalists. K Surendran told the media that those who gave news in the name of Palakkad elections will be dealt with.
'Let me make one thing clear so that there is no room for doubt. The media's attempts to smear a great movement built by hundreds of sacrifices and giving their lives under the guise of the Palakkad by-election will not be accepted in any way. No one who shows such malice will be spared. This is being said to the journalists of Kerala. No journalist who tried to defame a great movement in front of the public will be spared. Those who gave and spread false news will be dealt with properly, no matter what position they are in,' Surendran clarified.
There was a lot of criticism against K Surendran for defeat in the Palakkad by-election. Surendran later announced his willingness to resign. Surendran had also stated that he takes moral responsibility for the defeat. He expressed his willingness to resign to National President J.P. Nadda and General Secretary of the organization BL Santhosh. However, the central leadership informed Surendran that it would examine the situation in Palakkad and take necessary steps. The central leadership's stance is that Surendran should continue as the state president until the assembly elections. The central leadership accepted the report given by Surendran regarding the defeat in Palakkad. The leadership is of the opinion that there will be no further explosion after the BJP leaders in Palakkad were banned from public response.
