NEW DELHI: An investigation will be conducted against Google Maps in the incident in connection with the death of three youths after their car fell from an under-construction bridge. The families of the dead said they were travelling following a route on Google Maps. The investigation is being conducted based on this. Reports said the police have questioned officials from Google Maps and the Public Works Department. A Google spokesperson said they will cooperate with the officials investigating the case.

A car fell off an under-construction bridge over the Ramganga river in Bareilly of Uttar Pradesh two days ago. Amit Kumar, his brother Vivek Kumar and his friend Kaushal, who were in the car, died on the spot itself. The accident happened while they were on their way to a wedding in Uttar Pradesh. An approach road has not been constructed on one side of the bridge.

The car fell to a depth of about 50 feet. The accident occurred within the limits of Faridpur police station. Three youths from Farrukhabad were going to Faridpur by car from Datadanch in Badaun on Saturday night. The family also stated that this accident would not have happened if the unfinished bridge had been closed. The locals learned about the accident that occurred on Saturday night only Sunday morning.
