Five doctors killed after car collides with truck 

KANPUR: Five doctors were killed after the car they were travelling in collided with a truck on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Kannauj. The accident happened Wednesday morning at 3 am. The doctors who lost their lives have been identified as Dr Anirudh Verma (29), Dr Santosh Kumar Maurya (46), Dr Arun Kumar (34), Rakesh Kumar (38) and Dr Nardev (35).

Jaiveer Singh (39), injured in the accident is undergoing treatment. He is a postgraduate student of Saifai Medical College. The Scorpio SUV in which the doctors were travelling met with the accident while returning from a wedding in Lucknow. The speeding vehicle hit a divider on the road. The vehicle then hit a truck coming from the opposite direction and overturned. Police said that a detailed investigation into the accident is underway and the bodies have been sent for postmortem.
