MUMBAI: A pilot of Air India was found to have committed suicide. 25-year-old Srishti Tuli was found hanging at her flat in Mumbai. 27-year-old Aditya Pandit, her lover has been arrested on charges of abetment of suicide of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Her family had filed a complaint stating that Aditya had mentally harassed her. Her family alleged that he asked her to change her food habits and forced her to stop eating non-vegetarian food.

Based on the complaint of Srishti’s uncle Vivek Kumar Narendra Kumar, the Powai police registered a case against him. His complaint said that he had insulted her in public many times.

Her uncle said that Aditya had used his car to take his daughter Rashi and Srishti for shopping in Delhi in November last year. A verbal dispute broke out between the two. He hurled abuses at her in front of Rashi and in a fit of rage, he rammed his car at another vehicle. The car suffered damages but he was least bothered.

Rashi, Srishti, Aditya and his friends gathered in Gurugram for dinner in March this year. Srishti and others wanted to have non-veg food. He insulted her for that and later she had vegetarian food. Srishti then called Rashi and told her that Aditya had left her on the road and went home.

Her uncle said after the incident that Srishti told Rashi that she had been suffering because of the relationship but was unable to sever ties since she loved him.
