KOZHIKODE: In a shocking incident, a Plus One student lost his tooth after he was brutally thrashed by his seniors at school. The incident took place during a clash between Plus Two and Plus One students of the Kuttiady Government Higher Secondary School in Kozhikode. The police have registered a case against 12 Plus Two students in the incident. They have been booked under non-bailable sections.
The case was registered on the complaint of a Plus One student named Hisham. In his complaint, he alleged that he was brutally beaten up by around 20 senior students while he was returning home from school on Tuesday. The issues started after Hisham and his friends posted a video of their 'Kolkkali' dance performed at the Kunnummel sub-district school arts festival on Instagram.
After the video posted by Hisham and his friends gained numerous views on social media, the seniors asked them to delete the video. This led to an argument between the two groups which escalated into a clash. The two groups had clashed at the school grounds last week. Teachers had to intervene to prevent the clash from getting out of control.
Following this, the seniors attacked Hisham and his friends on Tuesday. Hisham, who sustained injuries, has been admitted to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. Police said that they will take strict action in the incident. Meanwhile, 14 students of the Kuttiady Government School have been suspended pending an investigation. The disciplinary action was taken in a meeting held with the parents of the accused and the complainants.
