The dispute between actor-producer Dhanush and actress Nayanthara is getting worse. Dhanush accused the actress of breaching copyright rules by including scenes from the movie ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ in her latest Netflix documentary. Dhanush produced the movie which was released back in 2015.

Dhanush filed a case against Nayanthara, husband Vignesh Sivan and their company Rowdy Pictures Pvt Ltd for using behind-the-scenes footage from the movie without permission. And now, Nayanthara’s lawyer Rahul Dhawan has responded to the issue.

“Nayanthara has not breached the copyright rule. Those BTS scenes were from her personnel vault and are not owned by Wunderbar Films. Those are not scenes from the movie but are just a montage of the shooting days. It is a personal collection and is not an infringement of copyright laws. The next hearing of the case in the Madras High Court is expected to be held on December 2." said Rahul Dhawan.

Nayanthara had come out with an open letter against Dhanush for not allowing NOC to use the footage from the film 'Naanum Rowdy Dhan' for the documentary ‘Nayanthara: 'Beyond the Fairytale'. This sparked a social media conundrum with many popular actresses across India extending support to Nayanthara.

Despite Dhanush not giving NOC, the Netflix documentary incorporated the scenes from the movie. This has now forced the actor-producer to level up his fight for justice.
