KOCHI: The Kerala government has received a setback in the plea filed questioning the appointment of Dr Ciza Thomas as the vice-chancellor of the Digital University. The High Court refused to stay the appointment of Dr Ciza Thomas. Meanwhile, the court issued notices to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, who is also the Chancellor, and Ciza Thomas on the plea filed by the government.

On Thursday, the High Court had refused to stay the Chancellor's order appointing K Sivaprasad as the interim vice-chancellor of the Technological University. Justice Ziyad Rahman refused to stay the appointment by pointing out that the situation of not having a vice chancellor in the university is unacceptable. The court, which accepted the government's petition, issued notices to the respondents, including Sivaprasad.
