MUMBAI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at the residence and office of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra. The raids were carried out in connection with the black money transactions in cases related to the production and marketing of pornographic videos. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out searches at 15 locations, including the house in Mumbai's Juhu. Businessman Raj Kundra was arrested in 2021, following a complaint by four women in connection with the case.
Raj Kundra's strategy was to lure film-loving young women by offering them opportunities in web series and films. After this, the women will be forced to act in porn movie. The arrests were made based on a complaint lodged by the women with the Mumbai Police in September 2021. Shilpa's husband had tried to sell the sex tapes made in India to foreign countries, including Europe.
The ED registered the case based on the finding that Kundra had earned money by selling blue films abroad. Raj Kundra used to sell his productions through an app called Hot Shots. The app was later sold to a foreign company. The ED has found that the ownership of the app was transferred to hide the source of black money.
ED found crucial information about the production company Arms Prime Media Limited and the app Hotshots. ED has found that Raj Kundra had produced and distributed pornographic films through the company, which was launched in 2019, through an app called Hotshots. The app, which was available on Apple and Google, was later sold to a UK-based company called Kenrin. Crucial documents have been found to show that 119 pornographic films were attempted to be sold for USD 1.2 million.
