PATHANAMTHITTA: Strict action has been taken on the factionalism in the Thiruvalla CPM. Thiruvalla Town North local secretary KK Kochumon has been removed from the post and area committee member Jenu Mathew has been given temporary charge. The local conference which turned chaotic will meet again on the 9th and elect a new committee. The decision was taken at the district secretariat meeting attended by CPM state secretary MV Govindan.

He also warned former area secretary Francis V Antony, who carried out anti-organisational activities despite action being taken. MV Govindan said that the situation in Thiruvalla organization has been examined and will go ahead with the conference. District secretary KP Udayabhanu also responded that there were some problems in Thiruvalla and they have been resolved.

The Thiruvalla Town North local conference, which was attended in person by the district secretary, was earlier suspended when it reached the brink of a scuffle.
