Ten years of love, five days of marriage: Woman alleges brutal assault over gold

KOLLAM: A young woman from Kundara has lodged a complaint against her husband, Nithin, accusing him of brutally assaulting her over dowry demands just days after their wedding. The Kundara police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the allegations. However, Nithin’s family has denied the claims.

According to the complaint, the couple, who had been in a relationship for 10 years, got married on November 25. The woman alleged that the abuse began on the fifth day of their marriage when her husband demanded gold. She stated that Nithin assaulted her all over her body and attempted to strangle her.

The woman sought medical treatment for her injuries on November 29. She further alleged that her husband attacked her brother when he visited her at the hospital.
