Midnight visit by boyfriends and social media friends leads to brawl and POCSO case

ALAPPUZHA: A POCSO case has been registered against two youths who raped 10th grade students. Police have also registered a case against two others for breaking into the house at night. The incident took place at around 12 am on Saturday night under Haripad station limits.

Two boys studying in Plus One and Plus Two classes had come to the house to meet the girls they met through social media. Meanwhile, the boyfriends of the girls who had arrived there saw them and had an argument.

When the family woke up after hearing the noise, the four tried to escape. Meanwhile, the family caught one of them. The police who questioned him found the other three. On detailed investigation, it was found that the girls had been sexually abused for two years.

A classmate of the 10th grade student was also at the house. The boyfriend and friend of one of them came to the house at night. Later, two youths aged 20 and 22, who had known the girls for about two years, came to the house. Haripad SHO Muhammed Shafi said that the brawl broke out when the boys and youths saw each other. A POCSO case has been registered against the accused.

The girl's mother, grandfather and grandmother were at the house. The incident came to light when they woke up after hearing the brawl. The family detained the 22-year-old and handed him over to the police. The police also said that he was drunk. One of the accused is a minor.
