NEW DELHI: The inability to stop the BJP from winning the Lok Sabha elections and coming to power at the Centre and the inability to make an impact in the subsequent assembly elections has added to the discontent in the 'INDIA' front. Trinamool Congress, CPI and Aam Aadmi Party have made public their dissatisfaction with the 'Big Brother' attitude of the Congress, the main party in the front.
The CPI pointed out that the Congress' unwillingness to share seats in the Assembly elections in Haryana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh damaged the front's objectives. The National Council passed a resolution stating that it was not getting the respect and representation it deserved within the front. Only the big parties get seats in the elections despite sticking to their anti-BJP stand. CPI and the Left parties were sidelined. CPI general secretary D Raja pointed out that this was a setback, including in Haryana, where victory was assured.

The Trinamool, which had been at loggerheads with the Congress even during the Lok Sabha elections, had blamed them for ignoring other 'INDIA' front parties in the seat talks for the assembly elections.

The differences came out of the shadows in the moves against the central government in the ongoing session of Parliament also. The TMC openly told the Congress not to stall Parliament by giving too much importance to the Adani corruption issue. The Trinamool boycotted the meeting called by the Congress chief, pointing out that discussions were needed on urgent issues such as the impact of the cyclone, the Sambhal violence, violence against Hindu leaders in Bangladesh and delays in paddy procurement. Trinamool's stand that it cannot sit with the Congress in the Lok Sabha is in addition to this. Trinamool has been allotted a separate seat in the opposition. Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced that it will contest the assembly elections alone, making it clear that things are not right in the India front. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party shared seats but could not win. The Aam Aadmi Party thinks it is better to contest alone in the assembly to return to power. Congress was also not ready to give seats to the Aam Aadmi Party in the assembly elections.
