BJP leader Dipika commits suicide; relatives allege murder

GUJARAT: 34-year-old BJP leader Dipika Patel commits suicide. Dipika was found hanging inside her house. She is a mahila morcha leader from Surat, Gujarat. According to the police, she had contacted her friend Chirag Solanki before committing suicide. However, the police said they have not been able to find anything like a suicide note.

The mobile phone used by Dipika has been sent for forensic examination. The police said they have decided to strengthen the investigation. Her friend Chirag Solanki is a businessman. It will also be investigated whether Dipika had any issues with him. It is learnt that Dipika had earlier told her relatives that she was under severe mental stress and did not want to live. The police team only has the preliminary details of the post-mortem report and is hoping to get more details after examining the phone.

Chirag Solanki reached Dipika's house but found her hanging inside the room. She was immediately brought down and rushed to a hospital but her life could not be saved. Dipika's relatives had also gone to the hospital along with Chirag. Dipika committed suicide by closing the room after shifting her three children to another room. Chirag Solanki had to breke open the door and enter Dipika's room.
