Woman dies after scooter skids, comes under Taurus truck in Cherthala

CHERTHALA: A woman died tragically after her scooter crashed into a Taurus lorry at the Arthunkal bypass intersection on the national highway on Monday. Nishamol (39), daughter of the Uthaman-Usha couple, and native of the 34th ward of Cherthala Municipality, died in the accident.

The accident happened at 1 pm on Monday when Nisha was heading towards the town from her house in Kuttikattu. While crossing the intersection, her scooter came face to face with a Taurus lorry heading towards Ernakulam. It is reported that the rear wheels of the lorry ran over her body.

Nisha was rushed to a private hospital but her life could not be saved. The lorry has been taken into police custody. The police have started a detailed investigation into the accident.

The funeral will be held today at her residence. Nisha leaves behind her children Chinmaya and Anmiha.
