PALAKKAD: Sekharipuram native Vatsan and his wife Bindu are devastated having lost their only son Sreedheep in a car accident in Alappuzha. Sreedheep had last called home to inform that he was going to a movie with friends and would return soon. However, his parents never imagined that it would be his final call.

Both of them are struggling to come to terms with the reality that their only son will never return. Sreedheep, a hurdler at the state level, had secured admission to the MBBS course at the Vandanam Medical College in Alappuzha on his second attempt through the entrance examination. The family, who had dreamed of their son returning home as a doctor, now awaits the lifeless body of their son.

Sreedheep was a brilliant student and a sports star. Now, the entire region is mourning his death. Sreedheep's mortal remains will be brought to his residence 'Sreevihar' in Sekharipuram after the post-mortem procedures.

The accident took place 55 days after Sreedheep went from home to college. The news of the accident had spread in the locality by night itself.
Locals say that Sreedheep had a very close bond with his father. Relatives and villagers are shocked to hear about Sreedheep's death. He is remembered by the locals as someone who maintained good relationships with everyone.
