KALPETTA: Fourteen people were injured in an accident where a tourist bus fell into a gorge in Lakkidi, Wayanad. The accident took place at 3:40 am today. The bus was carrying students and teachers from a school in Karnataka. None of the injuries are serious. The injured people have been admitted to the Vythiri Taluk Hospital.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver dozing off led to the accident. The bus lost control and fell into a gorge near the Veterinary University in Lakkidi. The accident involved a group of students and teachers from KPS Government High School in Harenahalli in Kodagu district. There were more than 47 students, nine teachers, and a cook on the bus.
