KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has warned the Cochin Devaswom Board (CDB) in the case in connection with the parading of captive elephants. The warning was issued while the court was considering the report filed by the District Collector regarding the procession of elephants at Tripunithura Sree Poornathrayeesa temple. The high court warned all the devaswoms. The court also asked why the directive is not being implemented. Don't think that you can do anything in the name of religion. Don't you have common sense, the court asked.
A division bench comprising Justice Jayashankar Nambiar and Justice P Gopinath considered the case. One’s ego should not be implemented. The court's directive should be executed. The court directed the Devaswom Board officer to file an affidavit. If the affidavit is not satisfactory, necessary action will be taken.
