Kalarcode accident; Tearful adieu to 'Indore boy' Ayush Shaji

ALAPPUZHA: Ayush Shaji (20), the medical student who died in the Kalarcode accident, received a tearful adieu from his family and locals in his hometown in Kavalam. At 11 am on Wednesday, SNDP yogam No. 945 Kavalam branch office-bearers Ashokan and Mohanan led the funeral rites.

After the post-mortem from Alappuzha Medical College, the body was brought to Ayush’s home in Kavalam. Ayush’s mother Usha Shaji and sister Nisha were inconsolable while paying their last respects and had to be supported by relatives. The cremation was held in the house premises. A huge crowd including classmates, teachers, and medical college staff arrived to pay last respects.

Kuttanad MLA Thomas K. Thomas, prominent people in the political and social fields was present during the final rites. Ayush’s mother Usha, a nurse in Indore, arrived on Wednesday morning to see her son for one last time.

Ayush completed schooling in Indore and then shifted to Kavalam to prepare for his medical entrance examination.
