ALAPPUZHA: Shamil Khan, the owner of the car that met with the accident leading to the death of five medical students, responded on the issue again. He reiterated that the car was not given for rent. Rs 1000 borrowed as cash was returned via Google pay. Shamil told media that he took the photo of the license after the accident as evidence and showed the license when they took the car.
‘Muhammad Jabbar took the car from me. The money was not accepted as rent. The students borrowed Rs 1,000 as cash as they did not have any money with them. They later google paid the money to me. Vehicles were given for rent earlier but stopped it now. The copy of the license was kept as evidence,' said Shamil Khan.
The police had found that the car owner Shamil Khan had sent and received money from students through Google Pay. This was followed by the owner's revelation again. The police said there are complaints against the owner for illegally renting vehicle. The vehicle that met with an accident on Monday night was carrying 11 first-year medical students.
