THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: One has been taken into custody over the death of Induja, the newlywed who committed suicide at her in-law's house in Elavattom, Palode. Induja's father had filed a complaint with the police alleging suspicion over the suicide. Based on this, police took Abhijith, Induja’s husband, into custody for interrogation.

Induja and Abhijith got married just three months ago. Palode Konnamoodu native Induja (25) was found dead inside her husband’s house on Friday. According to Induja’s family, the young woman faced domestic torture right after the days of marriage. All efforts to contact Induja were unsuccessful after Abhijith’s family barred any visit from his in-laws.

Induja was found hanging from the window in the second-floor bedroom of Abhijith's house. Abhijith reached home at noon to have lunch when he checked into the room only to find Induja hanging. She was rushed to Nedumangad District Hospital but the effort was in vain.
