THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The inquest has found injury marks on the body of newly-wed Indhuja (25), who was found dead at her husband's house at Elavattom in Palode. The inquest report also stated that there were marks similar to those of an assault near her eye and other parts of the body. Indhuja's father had lodged a complaint with the police alleging mystery in her death.

Induja, a native of Konnamoodu in Palode, was found dead inside the house yesterday afternoon. Indhuja's family alleged that Indhuja had informed them that she was constantly facing mental harassment and threats at her husband Abhijit's house but they were not allowed to go there. Abhijith married Indhuja at a temple three months ago after two years of courtship.

Induja's father says that when Induja came home last week, her body was battered. "My daughter was tortured and killed by Abhijit. A case of murder should be filed and investigated. She was educated and brought up in a good way. There were many marriage proposals. Abhijit ruined all of them. Even after getting married, Abhijit's mother did not accept Induja. She said that Induja has no place in the house." Induja's father alleges that all of them harmed his daughter.

Induja's brother Shinu says that his sister will never commit suicide. 'It has only been four months since my sister went to Abhijit's house. If there were so many problems, my sister would have informed us. The family is suspicious of many things. My sister has overcome bigger problems than this. I don't think she will ever commit suicide. They didn't like us going there and my sister coming here,' said Shinu.

Induja was found hanging from the window in the second-floor bedroom of Abhijit's house. It is said that Abhijit found Induja hanging from the window when he came home to have lunch in the afternoon. She was rushed to Nedumangad District Hospital but her life could not be saved. Induja's husband Abhijit was taken into custody by the police after her death. Induja's father filed a complaint with the police alleging that the death was suspicious. Based on this, Abhijit was taken into custody.
