THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Indian Meteorological Department has announced that there will be rain in the next few hours in various districts of Kerala. IMD warns that there is a possibility of light isolated rains at Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur districts in the next three hours.
No alerts have been issued in any districts. IMD also informed that there will be no disruption to fishing in Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts today. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for three districts on Thursday. Yellow alert has been issued for Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Malappuram districts. A chance of isolated heavy rain is forecast. Heavy rains mean rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours.
Gusty winds of 45 to 55 kmph and occasional 65 kmph are likely over Northwest Arabian Sea. Strong winds with gustiness of 35 to 45 kmph at occasional gusts of up to 55 kmph are expected over southern parts of Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal.
