THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Dr R Bindu said that the Kerala International Film Festival is responsible for bringing the best films to the masses. The minister was inaugurating the media cell of the film festival at Tagore Theatre.
"Filmmakers should embrace all categories. Every film in the festival is a direct testimony of the life and survival of human societies around the world. The film festival becomes a world travel experience for the cinephiles," said the minister.
"Lifetime Achievement Award winner Ann Hui, Spirit of Cinema Award winner Payal Kapadia, Jury Chair Person Agnes Godard, 4 female directors of films featured in Malayalam Cinema Today and Festival Curator Golda Sellam are examples of female representation at this year's festival," Film Academy Chairman Premkumar said in the introduction speech.
Kerala Media Academy Chairman RS Babu presided. Curator Godsa Sellam, KSFDC Chairman Shaji N Karun, PRD Deputy Director K Suresh Kumar and others were present.
