THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: From small to luxury houses in the state of Kerala, every building will have the same kind of number plate. The idea is to make the number plate attractive in gold colour. Unified number plates are being given as new numbers are being given for buildings as part of the division of local wards.
Houses, flats and offices are numbered by accounting each door. Digi door pin with nine-digit number will be on the board along with QR code. The employees of the local bodies will come to the houses and install the board. They will scan QR code and do geo tagging. The technical assistance for this is being provided by Information Kerala Mission. The number is being given by linking it to K Smart in Corporations and ILGMS software in Panchayats. The cost of preparing the board will be borne by the local bodies.
Efforts are being made to complete the process before the local body elections. Proceedings for this will begin when the proceedings of the ward redistribution committee enter into final stages. The address in the basic documents including Aadhaar will have to be changed according to the new house numbers. The documents should also be updated as soon as the new house number is given. Tax payments in local bodies will also be according to the new number.
The DG door pin will not need to be changed even if there is ward division in future. Information about the building can be known by using Digi Door Number and QRD Code. Location will also be available.
