NEW DELHI: More than 40 schools in New Delhi received bomb threats. The school authorities received the threat messages via an e-mail. The Delhi Public School in R K Pura and GD Goenka School in Paschim Vihar first received the threats. The first message was received Monday morning at 6.15 am. Many children and employees had reached the school by this time. All were sent back.

The GD Goenka School first got the message. Informed the fire department immediately. Later the Delhi Public School got the message at 7.6 am and they also informed the fire brigade. Though a search was conducted by the police, fire force, bomb and dog squads, nothing suspicious were found.

Bomb threats to schools in Delhi have been a recurring issue for the past few months. There was a blast near a CRPF school in Prashant Vihar in Rohini area in last October. The school wall, shops and vehicles nearby were damaged in the blast. The next day, on October 21, a bomb threat was sent to all CRPF schools through an email. However, the investigation revealed that it was fake.
