NEW DELHI: India has decided to stop all genial diplomatic parley with Bangladesh as atrocities against Hindus continue to break all limits in the country. As a first stern response, the Narendra Modi government sent a top diplomat to Bangladesh. This is the first time an Indian diplomat has visited Bangladesh since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government.

The Foreign Secretary is in Dhaka for talks. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed last week that his department's secretary Vikram Misri will visit Bangladesh on Monday.

He said that Misri will meet with the Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh and hold various other discussions.

Violence against Hindus has increased in Bangladesh under the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus, who came to power after the defection of Sheikh Hasina.

“The Interim Government of Bangladesh must fulfil its responsibility to protect all minorities. India's stance on escalation of attacks and provocations is clear. Bangladesh's claim of media exaggerating the developments cannot be accepted.” Said the Indian external ministry.

India has also expressed concern over the Interim government’s action against ISKCON. ISKCON is a globally renowned institution with a record of social service.
