Boy trapped in borewell dies in Rajasthan after 57-hour long rescue operations yield no results

JAIPUR: A five-year-old boy who fell into a 150-feet deep borewell in Rajasthan's Dausa, has died. The boy identified as Aryan, fell into the open borewell while playing in the field in Kalikhad village at around 3 pm on Monday. After a 57-hour long rescue operations, the boy was taken out and taken to the hospital, but his life could not be saved.

The boy was given oxygen through a pipe and CCTV cameras monitored his condition. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force and Civil Defence teams also reached the spot and led the rescue operation. The boy was unconscious when he was taken out from the borewell.

In September, a two-year-old girl was rescued from a 35-foot open borewell in the Bandikui area of Dausa, after 18 hours of rescue operations by NDRF and SDRF. The girl was trapped at a depth of 28 feet, and a similar approach was initiated to rescue her.
