The dispute between actor and producer Dhanush and actress Nayanthara had stoked a controversy and was widely discussed. The fight began when Nayanthara came out with an open letter against Dhanush for not granting NOC to use scenes from the actor's film 'Naanum Rowdy Thaan' in her documentary 'Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale'. Nayanthara remained silent on the incident after that. The actress had now revealed the reason for writing an open letter against Dhanush.
‘Courage comes from truth. I have to be scared only when I am fabricating something. If I am not doing that, then I don’t have to be scared. If I didn’t speak out now, when things had already gone too far, I don’t think anyone would have the courage to stand up for themselves ever again. Why should I be scared of doing something which I feel is right. I should be scared only if I am doing something wrong. I am not someone who wants to blemish someone’s image just for publicity,' Nayanthara clarified.
The actress's response was in an interview given to The Hollywood Reporter India. 'I didn't write an open letter to Dhanush to be a publicity stunt for her documentary. It's not about whether the documentary is a hit or a flop, but about knowing a person more, if you like them. All I wanted from the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan were four lines that summed up our lives, love and our kids for the documentary,' the actress added.
In the meantime, the actress revealed in the interview that she had tried to talk to Dhanush. She contacted his manager to talk to Dhanush. She was not trying to fix what had happened in the last 10 years, but to resolve the issues with the actor.
The actress said that she wanted to at least say ‘hi’ to each other when they meet in the future. The part of the film used in the documentary is a behind-the-scenes scene shot by a crew member. Behind-the-scenes scenes are not part of the contract, so it cannot be said that it is official footage. I thought Dhanush wouldn't cause any problems. But the actor went beyond the limits when the trailer of the documentary was released. Nayanthara also clarified that she wrote an open letter against the actor because she felt it was unfair.
