PALAKKAD: Three students were killed and many were injured after a lorry ran over them at Panayampadam in Mannarkad. Eyewitnesses said several children were injured in the accident. The children involved in the accident were students of Karimba High School. The rescue operations are progressing.

It is reported that the lorry carrying cement lost control, overturned and then ran over them. The students were walking home after the exam. At this time, a lorry carrying cement ran over them.

The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but the lives of three of them could not be saved. It is reported that two children are still trapped in the lorry. This can be confirmed only if the lorry is lifted. The rescue operation is being carried out jointly by the fire force and locals. Reports said the lorry was over-speeded.
