Children start car parked on roadside, rams wall, major tragedy averted

PALAKKAD: An accident happened after children started a car parked on the roadside. The car moved forward with the children to the opposite side and dashed against a wall. None of the children sustained any injuries. Though the accident happened on the busy road in East Ottapalam, a major tragedy was averted as there were no vehicles or people at that time. The car that met with the accident was a brand new one.

The accident happened yesterday afternoon. People in the car had come to buy grocery. Women in the car got outside to buy things after leaving their children in the car. The visuals show the driver of the car talking to someone else after getting out from it.

The accident happened when the women were about to enter the car. The car leaped to the opposite direction at a very high speed. Though the driver tried to stop the car, it did not succeed. He was seen falling on the roadside. The car which leapt forward stopped after dashing the wall on the opposite side. Some vehicles including buses were seen on the road just before this incident. Authorities said they are investigating what happened and will take action if any violations have occurred. The investigation is progressing based on the footage.
