HYDERABAD: Telangana High Court has granted interim bail to Telugu superstar Allu Arjun. The court granted bail to Allu Arjun, who was accused in the stampede during the screening of the movie Pushpa-2, in which a woman died. The lower court had remanded Allu Arjun for 14 days following which the actor approached the High Court for bail.

The task force team of the Hyderabad Police arrived at Jubilee Hills, Allu's residence, and arrested the actor. Section 118(1) and Section 3(5) have been charged against the actor. The video of the actor being arrested and taken away has gone viral on social media. Allu's wife and father Allu Aravind were with him at the time of the arrest.

The government lawyer argued that Allu and his team had unexpectedly arrived at the theatre on the day of the premiere of Pushpa-2 and it caused a big law and order problem and that was the reason for the stampede and death. At the same time, Allu Arjun's lawyers said that Allu did not deliberately intend to harm anyone. The lawyers argued that the police should have controlled the stampede and that Allu was not responsible for what happened.

Allu Arjun told the court that the allegations against him are baseless. He said that he had informed the theatre owners and the police about his arrival at the theatre and had instructed them to make arrangements.
