THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In response to a recent surge in road accidents, Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar has convened an emergency high-level meeting. The decision follows a tragic accident in Pathanamthitta's Kalanjoor, which claimed the lives of four family members, including a newlywed couple.

The high-level meeting has been convened to discuss necessary follow-up actions for ensuring safe travel and accident-free journeys in the wake of the rising incidents of vehicle accidents. The meeting is scheduled to take place in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday at 4 pm. The meeting will cover several topics, including the coordination of joint inspections by senior officials from various departments in areas prone to accidents. Senior officials from the Motor Vehicle Department, Police Department, National Highway Authority, KSEB, PWD, and Road Safety Division will attend the meeting.
