HYDERABAD: The boy injured in the stampede that occurred during the premier of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, has been declared brain dead. The nine-year-old boy identified as Sri Tej had sustained serious injuries in the stampede. The boy is on ventilator support at KIMS Cuddles Hospital in Hyderabad.
His mother Revathy had died in the stampede that occurred when people barged into the theatre following the actor’s arrival. The stampede broke out when Allu Arjun and music director Devishri Prasad was coming out along with the fans after watching the film. Revathi along with her family had arrived to see the film.
The police had arrested the theatre owners and Allu Arjun in connection with the incident. Theatre management is also accused in the case. The police report is that they resorted to lathicharge after the situation turned worse due to the intervention of the actor’s security guards.
