KANNUR: KSU State Vice President P Muhammed Shammas alleged in a press conference that the results of the first-semester exams of the four-year degree courses in Kannur University’s affiliated colleges were leaked.
"Although the university had previously announced that the results would be declared the other day, they had not been published by 7 pm. However, by 3:30 pm, the exam results started circulating in various student WhatsApp groups. Upon noticing the serious error, we contacted the exam controller, B Muhammad Ismail. He said that the university had not declared the results yet and could not specify when they would be announced. Although the evaluation had taken place at the college level, the controller said that the university is responsible for the official declaration of the exam results," Shammas said.
"After realizing the incident, university authorities rushed to publish the exam results at 7 pm, shortly after the news had surfaced. The leaking of the exam results is the first evidence of the ongoing trade under the controversial K-REAP project. This is the consequence of the contract given to a company called MKCL via the Higher Education Council to handle the entire information of the students and the examination procedure. The contract was awarded to MKCL following the intervention of the Higher Education Minister," Shammas added.
