Driver in Saudi for 33 years; expatriate who suffered stroke dies by heart attack

RIYADH: An expatriate suffered a heart attack and died while being brought home after suffering a stroke. Janardhanan (57), a native of Kannur Kannadiparamba, who had been undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of various hospitals in Riyadh for nearly five months after suffering a stroke, died. Janardhanan was a member of the Executive Committee of Keli Kala Samskarika Vedi (CPM) Alkharj Area Hotat Unit. Janardhanan was working as a driver in Hotat Bani Tamim for 33 years.

Janardhanan was admitted to Al Kharj King Khalid Hospital five months ago due to a stroke. Later he was brought to Shemaisi King Saud Medical City. Often unconscious, he became completely debilitated. He regained consciousness here and was shifted to Alkharj Hospital. While trying to bring him home as requested by his family members, he became ill and was admitted to the Riyadh Convalescent Hospital. While the Keli Charity was trying to bring him home, he suffered a heart attack yesterday morning.


The body was brought to Kozhikode by Air India flight and then taken to Kannur for cremation. His wife is Praseetha and his children are Pooja and Abhishek. Usha, Ravindran, Sujith, Biju and late Madhusudan are his siblings.
