Happy news for expats in UAE, holiday announced in country

ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a public holiday to mark the beginning of the new year. The public holiday will be observed on January 1st. The announcement was made by the UAE Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, which falls under the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization. Both the public and private sectors in the UAE will observe a holiday on New Year's Day. Meanwhile, schools in the country are already closed for the Christmas and New Year break.

The UAE is gearing up to welcome the New Year with various cultural and artistic events, as well as fireworks displays, across different emirates. Various organizations of expatriate Malayalis are also organizing events and gatherings to celebrate the New Year. The Dubai Global Village is preparing to welcome the New Year with unparalleled celebrations. A fireworks display will take place seven times between 8 pm on December 31 and 1 am on January 1.

As part of the New Year's Eve celebrations, the Global Village will be open to visitors from 4 pm on December 31 to 3 am on January 1. The event will feature a variety of entertainment programs, including DJ performances, to welcome the New Year. The Global Village has also set up a 21-meter tall Christmas tree, a Santa Claus corner, and a colourful light display to add to the festive atmosphere.
